This hands-on free workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to PCB Harness/Cable co-design integrates OrCAD Capture’s schematic design with the dedicated harness design capabilities of Zuken’s E3 software to create a comprehensive, data-driven solution for electrical systems. This co-design approach ensures that all changes are synchronized across the electrical and mechanical domains, reducing errors and improving consistency from initial design to manufacturing documentation.

Introduction to E3 Series
An overview of the E3 Series capabilities for electrical/cable design, focusing on automating workflows for wire harness design, panel layout, and manufacturing documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Introduction to co-design methodology
An introduction to co-design with OrCAD Capture and E3 Cable covering its core function, purpose, and key features such as automatic data transfer to reduce the chance of manual data entry errors.
Design the cable harness in E3 Cable
We’ll learn how to use E3 series to create logical wiring diagrams and physical designs, automate wire and cable assignment, and ensure proper component selection based on wire cross-sections
Create the harness layout
Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings, including clips, ties, protective coverings (convolute, heat-shrink), and labels on the drawing, to ensure the correct parts are included in the BOM.
Automate reporting.
Generation of manufacturing documentation and reports, such as bills of materials (BOMs)
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to design Harnesses including co-design with PCBs for more reliable, cost-effective, and efficient product development cycle.
