Who Should Attend: EE Engineers and PCB Designers

Workshop Agenda

Lesson 1

Introduction to OrCAD X Presto

An overview of the OrCAD X Presto. Go through its user interface, menus, toolbars, and mouse clicks.

Lesson 2

Creating a New Design and Constraint definition

This lesson will demonstrate how to initialize a board layout, import mechanical data, import logic design data and configure the required settings for PCB layout in OrCAD X Presto.

Lesson 3

Placing components

We’ll learn how to  how to place  components in a PCB layout in OrCAD X Presto, utilize features like cross-probing with the schematic, 3D modelling and others

Lesson 4

Routing & Copper Polygons Definition

This lesson will demonstrate how to  route a design  and define  copper areas for power and ground planes

Lesson 5

Verification & Manufacturing Output

We’ll learn how to validate the design for errors using design rule checks (DRC), review the design in 3D, and generate the necessary manufacturing documentation.

Workshop Outcomes:

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to layout PCB designs using the OrCAD X Presto PCB Editor.

Attendees will receive a 30-day OrCAD X Professional evaluation license after completing the workshop.
